Expert Urologist Surgeon & Professor of Urology
Pioneer of Minimally Invasive Urology in North Africa
A Career Defined by Innovation and Excellence
Professor Redouane Rabii is a globally recognized expert urologist surgeon and Professor of Higher Education in Urology. Since 2023 he practices at Clinique Akditalife — Clinique du Bien-Être Bouskoura and at his own Centre d'Urologie in Maarif, Casablanca.
Spanning more than three decades in the medical field — with over 24 years dedicated explicitly to specialized urology — his professional narrative is a blueprint for the modernization of healthcare infrastructure in emerging economies. He is the foundational architect for laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery within Morocco, and a key opinion leader recognized on the international stage.
Beyond the operating theater, Professor Rabii is a recognized biomedical inventor, the author of the first book on the retroperitoneal laparoscopic treatment of renal hydatid cysts, a prolific academic with over 175 peer-reviewed publications, and the founding President of the Moroccan Consultative Association for the Use of Medical Cannabis (AMCUC).
"The physician who operates, teaches, invents and advocates is far rarer — and far more valuable — than the one who merely excels in a single domain."
A Trajectory of Continuous Leadership
Redefining Urological Standards Across North Africa
Pioneer of the retroperitoneal laparoscopic approach for renal hydatid cysts — endemic to North Africa — drastically reducing anaphylaxis risk and peritoneal contamination. Author of the first dedicated book on this technique published in 2013.
Expert in orthotopic bladder reconstruction following radical cystectomy. His studies document daytime continence rates rising from 69.5% at 12 months to 90% at 24 months — matching global high-volume centres.
Championed the use of the TURis saline-based system for BPH resection, eliminating TUR syndrome risk. Led the first African series of 504 patients in ambulatory day-surgery, reducing average hospital stay to 1.5 days.
Oversaw the integration of cutting-edge robotic platforms at Hôpital Cheikh Khalifa (2015–2023), enabling complex procedures including radical prostatectomies, nephrectomies, and reconstructive surgeries with minimal invasiveness. Currently continues robotic practice at Clinique Akditalife Bouskoura.
Implemented laparoscopic robotic lateral suspension for cystocele prolapse with synthetic mesh in 27 patients — leveraging 3D visualization and articulating instruments to substantially reduce recurrence rates.
Leads multidisciplinary oncological tumor boards managing bladder, prostate, kidney and adrenal cancers. Published research on SBRT hypofractionation, rare leiomyosarcomas, urachal adenocarcinoma and urogenital tuberculosis.
Inventor of the AI-Integrated BPH Remote Monitoring Device
In February 2022, Professor Rabii was honoured by the FRDISI (Fondation de Recherche, de Développement et d'Innovation en Sciences et Ingénierie) in a ceremony attended by Moroccan state ministers and FRDISI President André Azoulay, for the invention of a disruptive biomedical device.
Traditional uroflowmetry for BPH diagnosis requires patients to visit hospital for a single, highly inaccurate "white-coat" measurement. Physicians were making life-changing surgical decisions based on isolated, potentially anomalous data — an unacceptable clinical bottleneck.
After more than a year of rigorous multidisciplinary R&D, a miniaturized, portable device was engineered that continuously calculates and archives urinary flow rates in the patient's home environment. AI algorithms analyse the longitudinal flow curves to precisely stratify patients: medical therapy vs. surgical intervention.
Developed in collaboration with Hôpital Cheikh Khalifa, UM6SS, and FRDISI's biomedical engineering & AI teams.
Continuous home monitoring — no hospital visits
AI-powered predictive analysis of urinary flow trends
Cost far below imported European/American equipment
Critical telemedicine utility during COVID-19 restrictions
Planned deployment across GP clinics & regional hospitals
At the Vanguard of Functional Medicine
Operating at the Clinique du Bien-Être Bouskoura (Akditalife), Professor Rabii leads a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to men's health — addressing andropause, sexual dysfunction, and the metabolic realities of aging with cutting-edge regenerative protocols.
Extensive prospective studies on malleable and three-piece inflatable penile prostheses (IPP) in cohorts of up to 50 patients. Research covers long-term couple satisfaction, surgical indications, complication management (including glans necrosis prevention), and next-generation touchless shape-memory alloy implants.
In an international masterclass with the Biobridge Foundation and Regen Lab, Professor Rabii presented outcomes of 60+ patients treated with autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma combined with Hyaluronic Acid — directly injected into fibrotic plaques to trigger targeted growth factor release (PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF) and natural tissue regeneration.
Comprehensive AI-augmented biochemical screening to detect subclinical hormonal, mineral and metabolic deficiencies early — enabling prophylactic correction through tailored hormone replacement therapy, delaying the onset of chronic pathologies and preserving vitality.
Founding President, AMCUC — Architecting Morocco's Pharmaceutical Future
As the founding President of the Moroccan Consultative Association for the Use of Medical Cannabis (AMCUC), Professor Rabii is the primary force bridging the gap between Morocco's historic cannabis cultivation and the rigorous demands of international pharmaceutical markets.
In May 2021, Morocco passed Law 13-21, officially legalizing cannabis for medical, cosmetic, and industrial use. Professor Rabii frames this as a dual revolution: providing a legal lifeline for 90,000–140,000 Rif farmers while positioning Morocco as a global pharmaceutical powerhouse.
Professor Rabii insists medical cannabis must be treated as a pharmaceutical agent — with certified seeds for genetic stability, controlled indoor cultivation, rigorous elimination of heavy metals, pesticides and pathogens, and full Good Agricultural and Manufacturing Practice (GACP/GMP) compliance.
AMCUC's flagship training initiative, operating out of the Pharmacademy in Bouskoura with support from Pharma 5, provides structured medical education on cannabis pharmacology, dosing protocols, and contraindications — drawing on Israeli clinical expertise and the internationally recognized "Green Book" guidelines.
